MoodCanvas Privacy Policy
MoodCanvas is a visual mood journal. It’s designed to be private by default: it needs no account and works without an internet connection.
Information MoodCanvas stores
When you use MoodCanvas, the app stores the following only on your device:
- Journal entries: the date, the color you chose, the feeling you selected, an optional note, and optional tags
- App preferences, such as theme, haptics, reminder time, and whether you’ve completed onboarding
This information is kept in a local database inside the app’s private storage on your device.
Information we collect
We don’t collect, receive, sell or share any personal information. MoodCanvas has no user accounts, no servers that receive your journal, no advertising, and no analytics or tracking tools. NinjaNext can’t see your entries.
Notifications
If you turn on the optional daily reminder, MoodCanvas asks for permission to show notifications and schedules a reminder locally on your device. No push service is used, and no information is sent off your device to deliver reminders. You can turn reminders off at any time in Settings or in your device settings.
Exports and sharing
You can export your journal (JSON or CSV) or your mosaic artwork (PNG). Exports happen only when you ask. The file is handed to your device’s share sheet, and you choose where it goes. Once you share a file, its handling is governed by the app or service you chose.
Data retention and deletion
Your data stays on your device until you delete it. You can:
- Edit or delete individual entries in the app
- Delete all journal data in Settings → Delete all journal data
- Uninstall the app, which removes its stored data
Because data is kept only on your device, uninstalling the app or clearing its data permanently removes your journal unless you exported a copy or your device’s own backup includes it. We can’t recover it for you.
Security
Your journal is stored in the app’s private storage, which Android protects from other apps. MoodCanvas doesn’t add its own encryption to the database. Use a device screen lock to protect your information.
Children
MoodCanvas isn’t directed to children under 13, and we don’t knowingly collect information from anyone.
Health information
MoodCanvas is a personal journaling tool. It isn’t a medical device and doesn’t provide diagnosis, treatment or medical advice. Reflections in the app summarize only what you recorded.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, for example because an optional backup or sync feature is added, we’ll update this page and the effective date. Optional features that send data off your device would be off by default and would ask for your consent.
